About BusyBids

Last updated: September 23, 2026

BusyBids is a service of American Business Software Corp that helps local field-service contractors discover and organize government contracting opportunities. We focus on practical work: HVAC, plumbing, electrical, roofing, paving, landscaping, janitorial, fencing and related trades.

The problem

Public agencies publish opportunities across many procurement websites, with different search tools, categories and registration requirements. Checking those sources takes time that a small contractor could spend running the business or preparing a bid.

What we do

BusyBids brings notices from supported federal, state and local government and procurement sources into one place. We organize them by trade and location and show available details such as the buyer, deadline, solicitation number, pre-bid meeting and set-asides. Listings link back to their source so you can investigate the work.

On top of that:

  • Email updates. Choose a weekly or twice-weekly digest, configure matched-bid alerts, and manage deadline reminders and change notifications separately.
  • A profile that sorts, not screens. Add your licences, bonding, certifications and the size of job you want, and we rank bids by how well they fit. We never tell you whether you are eligible - that is the agency's call and the notice's text.
  • A bid reader. Rules and, when available, AI extract requirements from the notice text. You can ask questions about that text within your account's allowance. The reader does not read attached plans, specifications or the full bid package. “Not mentioned” means information was not found in the notice, not that a requirement does not exist.
  • A place to work a bid. Save opportunities, track their stage and maintain checklists. A company library records document names, notes and expiry dates; the files stay with you. Team features, where enabled for your account, let colleagues use a shared workspace with their own email links.
  • Guides and news. Read about finding and pursuing public work. Some content is available in automated translations, which may contain errors.

Coverage depends on the sources we support and can access. It varies by location and trade; BusyBids is not a complete directory of government work. Listings and updates may be delayed.

What we are not

BusyBids is an independent information service and is not affiliated with or endorsed by any government agency. Verify solicitation requirements with the official issuing agency.

We do not issue solicitations, submit or accept bids, verify contractor qualifications or guarantee an award. Obtain the official documents, check all addenda and submit through the agency's required process. Procurement attachments remain with the source; we keep links and, where retrieval is permitted, metadata used to detect changes.

Who runs it

BusyBids is operated by American Business Software Corp. Public listings and the current Free plan are available without payment, and the site does not display advertising. Pro and Team offers marked “early access” collect expressions of interest; they do not start a paid subscription or charge a card. Features and limits depend on the access available to your account.
