REQUEST FOR PROPOSAL (RFP) Backup Generator System for 80 Club Car Tempo Lithium‑Ion Golf Carts City of Taylor, Michigan — Purchasing Department September 2026 1. Purpose The City of Taylor is soliciting proposals from qualified vendors to provide, install, and commission a diesel backup generator system capable of supporting the full charging load of 80 Club Car Tempo Lithium‑Ion golf carts. This RFP seeks competitive pricing, technical specifications, installation plans, and warranty information for a turnkey backup power solution. 2. Background The City operates a fleet of Club Car Tempo Lithium‑Ion golf carts, each equipped with either 650W or 900W onboard chargers. To ensure operational continuity during outages, the City requires a generator system capable of powering all 80 chargers simultaneously or through load‑managed distribution. 3. Technical Requirements A. Power Capacity Vendors must size generators based on the following load profile: 650W chargers → 52 kW connected load 900W chargers → 72 kW connected load Diversity factor: 70–85% Required generator capacity: 50–75 kW, 3‑phase diesel B. Acceptable Generator Types Proposals may include any generator meeting the above capacity. Examples of acceptable units include: C. System Components Proposals must include: Generator unit Automatic transfer switch (ATS) Fuel tank (minimum 24–48 hours runtime) Concrete pad or mounting solution Electrical distribution integration Load management system (if applicable) Weatherproof enclosure All wiring, conduit, breakers, and panels Startup testing and commissioning D. Installation Requirements Vendor must provide: Site assessment Electrical engineering drawings Permits and inspections Delivery and offloading Full installation Load testing Operator training 4. Proposal Submission Requirements A. Technical Proposal Include: Generator Specification Sheet Load Calculation Summary Installation Plan Fuel & Runtime Details ATS Specifications Maintenance Schedule B. Pricing Proposal Provide itemized pricing for: Generator unit ATS Fuel tank Concrete pad / mounting Electrical installation Labor Freight Optional accessories Annual maintenance contracts All pricing must be firm and final.
