Ector County - Purchasing has issued invitation for bid, solicitation 2026-IFB-131.

Ector County is requesting bids on SCHLEMEYER FIELD AIRPORT HANGAR DOOR REPLACEMENT PROJECT. Sealed or Electronic Bids addressed to Ector County Purchasing Agent, Andrea Moralez, will be received by 3:00 PM CST on October 1, 2026. Any bids received after bid closing time will not be accepted. Ector County requests that Respondents use the OpenGov softwarehttps://www.co.ector.tx.us/page/ector.opengovbidsandproposals in order to submit your response. However, the County will accept hard copies of responses. All bids should be received either electronically, or at the location below by the deadline. If Bidder chooses to submit a Hard copy, it must be delivered in a sealed envelope with a return address and clearly marked " SCHLEMEYER FIELD AIRPORT HANGAR DOOR REPLACEMENT PROJECT " The Bidder's firm name shall appear on the outside of the envelope. Deadline for bid submission is 3:00 PM CST on October 1, 2026. Location for hard copy submittal is Ector County Purchasing Department, 1010 E 8th Street, Suite 110, Odessa, TX 79761.

Ector County is soliciting sealed bids from qualified contractors for the design, fabrication, delivery, and installation of one (1) replacement aircraft hangar door at Schlemeyer Field Airport, located at 200 E. Terminal Drive, Odessa, Texas. The project consists of providing a complete turnkey hangar door system to replace the existing 100-foot by 28-foot hangar door opening. The selected contractor shall furnish all labor, materials, equipment, engineering, supervision, transportation, and incidentals necessary to design, construct, deliver, and install a fully operational hangar door system in accordance with the specifications contained in this Invitation for Bids (IFB). The replacement door shall be designed by a licensed structural engineer experienced in similar hangar door systems and shall include all required structural supports, operating equipment, weatherproofing, insulation, and modifications necessary for proper operation. The County intends to replace the existing hangar door with a modern, reliable system that maximizes the usable opening while maintaining compatibility with the existing hangar structure and appearance. The successful contractor shall coordinate all work required to provide a complete, functional installation. Removal of the existing hangar door is not included in this solicitation. However, the contractor as part of the required scope of work shall be responsible for removing any remaining components or structures necessary to complete the installation of the new door system. Upon completion, the contractor shall provide a minimum two-year warranty on the entire scope of work including but not limited to the door, parts, and workmanship.

Questions must be submitted by September 11, 2026 at 5:00 PM CDT.

A non-mandatory pre-proposal conference is scheduled for September 9, 2026 at 10:00 AM CDT at 200 East Terminal Drive, Odessa, Texas 79765.
