Purpose of the Project The Town of Payson and Payson Municipal Airport are undertaking this development to expand the airport’s facility capacity and better serve a growing population of based aircraft owners and aviation users. The new facilities will provide modern, reliable aircraft facilities that supports safe and efficient day-to-day airport operations while helping the airport meet current and future aviation demand. Project Intent and Vision This initiative is designed to introduce high-quality infrastructure that reflects industry best practices, complies with all airport planning and regulatory requirements, and integrates seamlessly with existing airport facilities. The Town seeks a development partner capable of delivering innovative, durable, and cost-effective solutions that maximize available space and promote long-term operational sustainability. Payson Municipal Airport is a vital general aviation facility serving the Town of Payson and the surrounding region, supporting a wide range of users including private pilots, business travelers, emergency services, and recreational aviation. In recent years, the airport has experienced consistent growth in based aircraft and aviation activity, creating an increased demand for modern, secure, and reliable aircraft storage facilities. The airport’s current hangar inventory is at or near capacity, prompting the need for additional development to meet user demand and maintain efficient operations. As part of its long-term planning efforts, the Town of Payson has identified designated areas within the Airport Layout Plan (ALP) for future hangar expansion. The development of new hangar facilities within these buildable areas represents a critical step in supporting the airport’s continued growth, enhancing service capabilities, and advancing the community’s economic development goals. This RFO seeks qualified partners who can help deliver high-quality infrastructure that aligns with the airport’s strategic vision and future operational needs.
