Request For Quotation from County of Alameda, CA - Oakland, CA

County of Alameda, CA - General Services Agency-Procurement has issued request for quotation.

It is the intent of these specifications, terms, and conditions to describe landscape chemicals being requested by the County. The County intends to award a one (1)-year contract (with the option to renew for four [4] years) to a pool of up to three (3) Bidders selected as the lowest responsible Bidders whose response meets the County’s requirements. The County will engage the pool of contractors as landscape chemicals are needed. Cost, availability, lead time, compliance with the specifications and regulatory requirements, and documented contract performance will be the determining factors regarding which contractor will be utilized to provide the required goods. The County reserves the right to determine the appropriate Contractor for each order and is under no obligation to distribute purchases equally among awarded Contractors. These specifications, terms, and conditions are to procure the most environmentally preferable products with equivalent or higher performance and at an equal or lower cost than traditional products. Specific requirements from the County’s Sustainability Program related to this RFQ are included in the appropriate sections.

The Alameda County Public Works Agency (PWA) is responsible for vegetation management and maintenance activities along County roadways, right-of-ways and flood control channels. To support these operations, the County requires landscape chemicals for weed and invasive vegetation control. Areas requiring treatment may include, but are not limited to: flood control channels, roadsides, landscaped areas, planters, County-owned properties, tree stumps, fence lines, rights-of-way, concrete islands and vacant lots. Alameda County Agriculture/Weight & Measures (AWM) performs regulatory noxious weed and vertebrate pest control work on public and private lands in Alameda County as part of their mission as the local regulatory authority on invasive species. AWM also supports fellow county agencies in managing county infrastructure in areas of overlap with current regulatory pest control functions, and types of service work performed, e.g. field rodent control, regulatory noxious weed control and eradication activities.
